"The Adobe Window" painted in my sister's washroom in Montreal, Quebec

The first few years of my life was on farm in southern Alberta. Then we moved to Drayton Valley, a middle-sized oil-field town near the North Saskatchewan River. I grew up there but the farm was never far from my heart. Today, I am glad to say, I back on a farm. Now I live, with my family, in the Blindman River valley near Rimbey, Alberta, and on this piece of land my husband and I have been raising our four boys.

Throughout my life, I have enjoyed the things that God made, and making things of my own. I have found many outlets for both these interests. We have a real manangerie of animals on our farm, and I have had numerous opportunities to create. My subjects are often the people and animals I see around me, but being somewhat of a romantic, I find myself also drawn to castles, knights, and dragons.

I like to draw, paint, write, sculpt, and act. I like a creative challenge. I like themes that I can put all my energies towards; bringing together as many aspects as I am able to perfect the idea.

I also find joy in giving others the opportunity to experience and take pleasure in the things I love. I like to find ways to welcome people to our farm, to experience our lifestyle, enjoy the animals, or just find the beauty of just sitting and watching the river pass by. I like to find opportunities to teach, inspire, and encourage others to try and succeed in some creative venture.

Although I am not a homeschooling mom, I have often been mistaken for one. I think this is because God has created me with a desire to learn and experience new things, particularly in the areas of creativity and animals, and a desire to help others learn. I think this is why I have an interest in those who do homeschool, and a desire to take part in their lives.
