Our cabin is set against the river, and is only accessible accross one of our pastures. There is no running
water or electricity, and so it is a perfect getaway for those who enjoy living like our pioneers did. The wood and coal
cookstove is an excellent source of heat and cooking. There is also a small two-burner propane stove and a small
camper-size propane fridge. Candles, and oil and proprane lanterns are a very pleasing and adequate
source of light. There is a sink with a pail underneath it for carrying out the dirty water. An outhouse is
nearby. The cabin has a triple-decker double-wide bunkbed, as well as a small window seat, and so can accomodate
quite a large group for its size. The covered deck enables people to spread outdoors and greatly extends the living
area.
There are benches by the river for sitting and letting the world go by. There is a trail through the bush, and
another down to the pond nearby. There are birdhouses and birdfeeders around the cabin.
The cabin is equipped with dishes, bedding, games, books, toilet paper, etc. We supply water in large buckets.
All you need to bring is your own food and clothes, and a flashlight if you wish.
